"When I
consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of
him?" (Psalm 8, David)

Welcome
to my website. Here's my ongoing effort to capture the heavens using equipment available
to backyard astronomers. Well... it used to be ongoing. Below is an image
from my first session in more than a year...yet again. Anyway, I hope this site inspires you to seek
the farthest reaches of Creation, and to understand our humble place in the universe.
Please
choose an image category on the left to view my images. Thanks for visiting,
and feel free to write.

About my imaging site: Harahan is located on the bank of the Mississippi River a few miles upstream of New
Orleans, Louisiana (U.S.A.). The Superdome is seven miles away. My skies are Bortle Class 8 (City
Sky -White). Imaging would seem hopeless here, but I work around it using filters and staying aimed near the zenith.
For more on light pollution, please visit the International Dark-Sky Association website. Do what you can to save our skies!
Technical Note: If S.T.A.R. 2000 guiding is shown for an image, the actual capture time is twice the exposure
time shown.
